The Safety and Security Sector Education and Training Authority (SASSETA) invites all small
enterprises who meet the criteria below to apply for a COVID-19 Relief Package.

WHO CAN APPLY?
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

1. Must be a small enterprise operating in the Safety and Security Sector, not employing more
than 49 employees. Where a company has more than 15 but not more than 49, they may
be considered, however supplies will be limited to a maximum of 15 employees.
2. Preference will be given to companies that have submitted Workplace Skills Plans for the
2020/21 financial year
3. Valid PSIRA registration (applicable only to the Private Security Sub Sector applicants) or
Law Society / Legal Practices Council registration (applicable only to the Legal Sub Sector
applicants) will be required before the MoU can be concluded.
4. Valid COIDA Certificate or relevant insurance for employers will be required before the
MoU can be concluded

SELECTION CRITERIA:
1. Only companies that meet the eligibility criteria in full will be selected
2. Preference will be given to companies based in rural areas

COVID-19 RELIEF PACKAGE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:
1. COVID-19 Risk Assessments to establish the extent to which the business is vulnerable
to COVID-19.
2. Support with the preparation of evidence of COVID-19 compliance for the Department of
Labour & Employment.
3. Post Lockdown Preparedness Plans. These updated as the Legislation and/or
Regulations are amended.
4. Compulsory SAIOSH accredited COVID-19 Workplace Hygiene Awareness Training
course for all employees in the company.
5. To provide COVID-19 the personal protection equipment (PPE) listed below for a period
of six (6) months

ONCE-OFF SUPPLY
1. A handheld thermometer / scanner per company
2. Two x Face Shields for each employee (up to 30 Total per company);
3. A box of 500 x 3-Ply Earloop Surgical Face Masks for visitors and customers (up to 500
Total per company).

SIX MONTH SUPPLY (delivered three times – every two months):
1.Three x Blinded 3-Ply reusable mask branded mask for each Employee
2. (45 per delivery
3. A bottle of 1L Trigger 70% Alcohol Hand & surface Sanitizers (5 per delivery).
4. Five Bottles x 5L Refill of 70% Alcohol Hand & surface Sanitizer per company (5 per
delivery).
5. A box of 100 Latex Gloves per company per month (200 gloves in total)
