EE online submissions are now open for 2020/21

We urge all designated companies to submit the relevant info no later than 15 October 2020, to avoid delays and non-submission.

Avoid EE fines or R1.5 million or 2% of your Annual Turnover.

Who must report in 2020

 All designated employers with 50 or more employees must report every year.

 Employers with fewer than 50 employees who are designated in terms of the turnover threshold applicable to designated employers (Schedule 4 of the Employment Equity Amendment Act No. 47 of 2013).

 Employers who became newly designated on or after the first working day of April 2020, but before the first working day of October 2020, must only submit their first report on the first working day of October 2021.

 Employers who voluntarily wish to comply in terms of section 14 of the EE Act. Useful Advice

 Manual and posted EE Reports will not be accepted after 1st October 2020.

 EE Reports will not be accepted by fax or email.

 In the case of online submission, complete and finalise corrections in the EE Report by no later than 15 January 2021.

 No Changes are allowed after submission.

 Ensure that the email of the CEO and EE Manager is correctly captured.

Impact of providing incorrect employer details
Employers who allow third parties to fraudulently enter email addresses that are not their own, or who fail to verify the email addresses of the CEO/ Accounting Officer and the EE manager may experience the following:
 The employer may not receive a reminder letter with login and activation details from the Department of Employment and Labour.
 The employer may not receive an acknowledgement letter and copies of the EEA2 & EEA4 reports submitted to the Department of Employment and Labour.
 The employer may not receive system notification letters which remind them to finalize their incomplete or error reports before 15 January.
 The employer may not receive information, notices or invitations to stakeholder events from the Department of Employment and Labour.
 The employer’s data security may be compromised, if the employer’s login details are forwarded to third parties that are no longer contracted by the company.
